5 Of The Most Precious Diamonds Out There!

As you know diamonds nowadays are very scarce, and somewhat misconceived once discovered. Depending on diamonds natural elements, four main factors all tie in to portray the precious stone’s natural value. Throughout history, Natural diamonds have been discovered in more than 35 countries. After doing the statistics, the U.S. Geological Survey states that most of the known natural diamond reserves are located in Congo, Botswana, Australia, and South Africa. The Congo has the highest number of diamond reserves and is presently the leading manufacturer of all natural diamonds. Among all of the diamond producing countries, at least 15 also have the technology to produce synthetic diamonds, and the ability to generate different types of cuts, and shapes of all stones. In addition to being sold commercially as gemstones for jewelry, diamonds are also used in the mining and production industries as drill bits for machinery. According to the USGS, world industrial diamond reserves are estimated to be about 580 million carats as a whole!

I came across five of the most expensive diamonds in the world, two of which are priceless due to their scarcity. For thousands of years, diamonds are, and always have been around us, or beneath us. A Diamond is one of the most wanted mining products. You can be rich instantly if you found a big and rare diamond in the backyard of your house, and the best part about it is that there is always that possibility. At stone number one we have the De Beers Centenary Diamond which is classified as D levels by the Gemological Institute of America. It’s the highest grade of a diamond that is colorless, and internally and externally flawless. The diamond itself is 273.85 carats (54.77 grams) in weight. This diamond is the third largest diamond that has been produced by De Beer’s Premier Mine speculated to be valued in the $100 Millions. At the second stone we have lined up is The hope diamond which is 45.52 carats (9.10 grams) and is located in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington DC. The diamond looks blue in color to the naked eye, but don’t be fooled it shines red like phosphor under ultraviolet light and is speculated to be worth in the $350 Millions.

At stone number three we have The Cullinan Diamond which is 3,106,75 carats (621.35 grams) diamond and is the largest rough gem quality diamond ever found in the world. This diamond is speculated to be in the $400 Millions. The last two stones I’m going to mention are priceless, nothing like diamonds you would ever come across in general. At stone number 4 we have The Sancy diamond which is 55.23 carats (11.05 grams) and looks fainted yellow. It is believed that the diamond is Indian origin. This is one of the first of large diamonds to be cut with symmetrical facets. The stone is also unusual because it has no pavilion just a pair of crowns, one on the other. Atlast, the most intriguing diamond of them all is The Koh-I-Noor diamond, meaning mountain of light which from studies show that it is sought out to weigh 105 carats, and measure 36.00 × 31.90 × 13.04 mm. The Koh-I-Noor was originated at Golconda in the Andhra Pradesh state of India. It was owned by major Persian rulers who had fought over this extraordinary stone. Intrigued? If so below are pictures of these precious stones.
